To Whom It May Concern, this is an unsolicited recommendation,
I was asked by Steve Featherstone to participate at the Reptile Store’s summer camp a couple of years ago. I have a large assortment of exotic birds, parrots. I am the founding member of the Parrot Club of Southwestern Ontario. I met Steve at one of the shows where he asked me to participate in his annual fund raiser Steel Safari. Since the charity was for the children I agreed and brought the members of the Parrot Club of Southwestern Ontario with me. I was impressed with Steve’s knowledge, presentation and care of the animals.

Just a short note to let you know that Stevie B had an awesome week. Your camp is the best I’ve ever encountered. EVER! Stevie looked forward “daily” to attending, unlike the other camps where he dragged his heals…lol Thank you for all you TLC you provided for the kids, and the knowledge you shared … these are memories you have created for a life time! You’re an awesome person, and I’m going to share that with everyone I know… and I’m also going to pass around what a wonderful camp you have…. Thanks again Steve. We’ll see you next week!
Arlene, and little Stevie B.
Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how impressed I am with your summer camp. Everything that has come out of my daughter’s mouth this past week is related to reptile facts of something interesting that she learned. She talks about nothing else!
I think you have the most organized and educational program that I’ve come across in the several years that I have dealt with summer camps, sending my own kids and the kids that I’ve worked with through agencies I’ve worked for. Your program is terrific!
I just want to say a BIG thank you for giving Hayley and Arleigh an amazing experience they will never forget…or stop talking about!!! Arleigh and Hayley really enjoy spending time with Stephen so even though they were a little nervous about going to camp I was sure once they got there everything would be fine. After the first night driving back to Kitchener from Hamilton I knew it was more than fine…it was a huge hit. Not only did they get to hang with their favourite frog boy, but they just loved everything else about camp. The counsellors were great and the curriculum is amazing. I really can say enough. Please let everyone involved know that the girls loved it and you guys do a great job! Thank You all!
Your camp was awesome I can’t wait till next year!!! I will be there this Sunday to see my sister do her show on. I will also bring my appetite for pizza!!!!
For the first year of running the camp U did a great job! All of your Staff was great! The knowledge that Dustin and Tiarra came home with was amazing! I am looking forward to next year sending Dustin to senior camp and Tia is going again! To see what they bring home next year!!!!!!!!!!
My son Zach had the most enjoyable experience at the Reptile Store Camp than any other he has attended. Every day, he came home with vivid descriptions of the events, and lots of facts about animals. He is very enthusiastic about returning next year. I, myself, very much enjoyed the children’s presentations at the end of the week, which were educational and entertaining. In Zach’s words, it was the most awesome camp ever!!
Congratulations on your very successful first year!
I want to thank you for offering Brandon an amazing week…. We were away at Wanakita and he was still talking about it and looking for reptiles and informing the other kids all about snakes, etc..lol! He is a guy who has not had many opportunities and I could not be happier in the opportunity the Reptile Camp provided for him. He will be back next year for sure.
Again thanks Steve for all your work and efforts, please pass on a big thanks to the others who were all involved.
I was so excited when I heard the store was going to be running a summer camp, but I never thought that for this being the first year it would turn out as well as it did. As you know I was a little worried about leaving my twin boys at camp without me because of the behaviour difficulties they have but the staff was so good with them and there was always so much going on that they didn’t have any problems. The boys wanted me to say Hi and to tell you they had the time of their lives at Reptile Camp and can’t wait until next year. How many kids in the world can say they have fed and touched a full-grown alligator or a giant anaconda? I would, and have recommended the camp to everyone; the boys learned a lot and had so much fun. Thanks for doing such a good job and educating my children.
P.S. The twins would like to say Hi to Popcorn and Julius Squeezer
Just needed to tell you that Max found your camp so amazing. He did not stop telling people that he got to present the American Alligator and its mouth was not even tapped, I was just happy that it did not decide to take a chunk out of his ears!!! He loves reptiles and now he knows even more facts about them. Then when I watched the CD you sent out at the end of his week, I was amazed at how many other animals they got exposed to (the different birds, sugar gliders, bats (YUCK!!)) and then the best picture of all was the one of you and Max hugging that full grown alligator Mojo at your store. Max is definitely coming back next year, and if his grandparents would keep him the whole summer he would be at your camp the whole summer.
First of all I want to say thank you so much for an awesome summer camp and L.I.T program. I would have never had the opportunity to experience the extensive list of amazing and interesting animals. I was so glad I did this camp and cannot wait for next year. I want to pursue a career in the veterinary field and I believe that your program is an excellent way to gain the experience needed for this job. Participating this year with the L.I.T program has helped me become an overall more confident person and I loved working with your incredible staff.
Hi, Katie had a great time… she was tired every night!! Thank you very much … she never complained about anything (that says a fair bit!). I did not worry about her at all. The CD of pictures was awesome!! I am really impressed with everything. Thank you very much for everyone doing such a great job!! 🙂
Oh my gosh, my daughter Julia LOVES the camps, she started coming last March break and then went to the summer camp and she is looking forward to coming again next month. She learned so much it is amazing!! We can be driving along the high way and I will say look kids a pretty bird and she will say “actually that is a such and such and they hunt this and that…” it is amazing what she remembers!
I believe the camp is worth EVERY PENNY and more, I was surprised at how much they do for the cost. It is very, very well organized and I feel very safe sending my daughter there. Thanks Savannah Steve and group for the great camp, keep up the good work!
Where do I start, senior camp was amazing, and since it was a small group, it was even better. We got to do a lot of things that a lot of people wouldn’t, the over nights were so much fun and I met amazing people, learned a lot of important things, and most of all, had a lot of fun. I so want to go again this year.
Our children attended a week of Reptile Camp. They were enthusiastic to go each morning, and really liked the staff. They learned a great deal, and at the end of the week, were able to share information on specific animals. They enjoyed the opportunity to handle and examine the various creatures. The outside activities were varied and well planned. I would recommend Reptile Camp!
The Reptile Camp offer amazing education on everything! Here, programs help children learn about different geographical regions and the camp promotes reading, writing, arts and crafts! Exceptional staff pulls it all together and my kids thrived in the summer camp environment. Great value for your money, I recommend this camp highly to all of my friends and acquaintances! My kids look forward to it every year!
Our daughter, Ella, loved the reptile camp! Learning and caring for creatures she wouldn’t normally get a chance to be around was great along with the mix of off-site trips that were really fun. And, your staff was so nice. Thanks for a great experience.
We have always had total satisfaction every time Adam went to The Reptile Camp. (And you know he went there a lot) It’s great fun for the kids, and (don’t tell them), it’s educational too. A great way to foster understanding and appreciation for the unfurry creatures of the world! Changing your camp weeks to limiting certain age groups though, has advantages and disadvantages. Perhaps it might be possible to have two groups for the same week / broken down by age. Adam missed out going to Reptile Camp this past summer as the weeks we needed camp, it was for the younger group.
I just want to say a BIG thank you for giving Hayley and Arleigh an amazing experience they will never forget…or stop talking about it!!!!!
Arleigh and Hayley really enjoy spending time with Stephen Reynolds so even though they were a little nervous about going to camp I was sure once they got there everything would be fine. After the first night driving back to Kitchener from Hamilton I knew it was more than fine…it was a huge hit. Not only did they get to hang with their favourite frog boy, but they just loved everything else about camp. The counsellors were great and the curriculum is amazing. I really can say enough.
